How to keep your feet warm when running , Numb Toes Cold Feet Runners Advice




 Cold Feet In Winter can Cause Running To Be Painful.
Not wearing the right running shoes or footwear may cause your already cold and numb toes to added extra problems to your running routines and training and will prevent your performance .

Check list to prevent and stop cold feet and numb toes

{Chilblains }  -a painful itching,swelling, on a hand or foot caused by poor circulation in the skin when exposed to cold.


Why do i get chilblains on my feet in the winter months?  Chilblains are our bodies reaction to extreme cold tempertaures.  Our toes, fingers , ears and nose are the most effected.

Causes of chilblains.


  • Bad UK WInters with freezing temperatures and snow
  • people who live in cold damp enviroments
  • workers in cold freezers and factories
  • If you suffer from poor circulation including raynauds disease
Often children and the elderly get chilblains and women are more likely to get them then men.
Chilblains are itchy swellings on the skin and are very uncomfortable.  Generally they will heal by themselves with the assistance of a chilblain repair cream or on their own when conditions such as coldness is no longer present.

What are the symptoms of Chilblains


  • Burning
  • Redness
  • Itchy sensation
  • Worsens in a warm/hot room
  • Develops a few hours are exposure
  • Skin swells
  • Skin goes red / dark blue colour

How to prevent chilblains

  • Wear warm clothes when going out in extreme coldness
  • Keep your home warm at all times
  • Do not sit about keep moving , exercise in doors
  • do not wear tight fitting boots or shoes in winter months that may cause poor circulation to your feet
